Boat & PWC Licence Training is available most days.

Where: Boat licence courses are run at Noosa in our air conditioned training room and at Tin Can Bay at the Coastguard (adjacent to the boat ramp).

When:

Noosa courses available 7 days a week .Tin Can Bay courses run monthly or more frequently as required. Courses commence at 7.30am and conclude at approximately 3.30pm.

Instructor: Jim Sharpe is the instructor for both venues. Jim has 25 years of boating experience and is an experienced trainer. He is also a fully qualified and experienced Commercial Diver and Dive Master. Jim’s hobbies include recreational diving and fishing.

Course Description:
Theory and assessments in the morning session.
Practical training in the afternoon.
Practical training covers from the river mouth to Lake Cooribah for Noosa courses and the Great Sandy Straits for the Tin Can Bay courses. Courses suitable for all boaties (including skiers) jet skiers, yachties and houseboat owners

Training Vessel:

5.6m Quintrex , 115HP 4 stroke motor, Bimini and weather covers (this vessel is ideally suited to all weather licence training) Surveyed to 7 people.

 Please take this email as a personal thank you for an excellent boat licensing course held today, 20 July 2007.
It is obviously a joint effort by you both which was handled with professionalism, enthusiasm, expertise and dedication. It is a difficult task to address a group of people which come from varying backgrounds, skills and experience yet, from my observations, this was successfully done by putting all participants at ease and making the course enjoyable as well as highly informative.
 
It is always assumed that the lecturer or instructor judges the participants but it is rarely recognised that the participants also judge the instructor. From today's course I would venture to say that a two way partnership was formed and the credibility of the Australian Boating College was enhanced. I am sure that I am echoing the sentiments of all today's participants.
 
As a retired auditor (fraud and compliance), lecturer and qualified manager I feel qualified in sending this email.
Well done, boating will be a better sport and recreational hobby for your joint efforts.

Other boating training services available - A great Gift Idea

What about some individual training in your vessel? If you've just begun boating, having a commercial instructor spend a half day with you to go through everything  - from how to back your trailer, and launch and retrieve your boat, to using your own marine radio and electronics, might be just what you need.  Snapper season is upon us, so perhaps you'd like an experienced skipper on board when you tackle your first after dark fishing trip. It's a great way to safely expand your knowledge in a short time frame, so you can get on with it and make the most of your boating. We have a number of instructors available on the coast, each of whom is commercially qualified, and who would love to transfer some of their boating knowledge to you.
