Navigation Course
This course is designed for those wishing to make offshore trips and for those making extended coastal passages. We’ve included the most useful topics for recreational purposes, from the more intensive commercial courses eg Coxswain

Duration is 6 hours in a classroom environment, usually running over two evenings. Cost is $150

You’ll gain the crucial navigation skills necessary to safely navigate a boat in open waters.

Topics include
How to plan your trip
Necessary charts, instruments and publications
Compass usage
How to work out your position
Latitude & Longitude
Safe anchorages
Distance, speed, time and fuel calculations
Basic electronics including GPS, radar, etc

At the end of the course you will receive a certificate of attendance, and have more skills to safely navigate your boat.

The course is conducted by a commercial skipper who is an Australian Boating College instructor.
